Mary, David and Michael Chingumbe are three orphans whose lives testify to the faithfulness of God’s promise that He will be a Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5).

The children lost their father years earlier to the AIDS virus and now their mother, Rebecca, was suffering the final days of her battle with this ravaging disease.
EOH staff members visited Rebecca’s home at the
request of a local church partner, Grace Ministries
Missions International in the Kalingalinga compound, just outside the capital city of Lusaka.
Rebecca had one concern…after her death…who would care for her children? Rebecca was a believer who faithfully served her local church. She was holding on to her prayers and the promise that God would care for her soon to be orphaned children.
Moving to Rebecca’s bedside, the EOH staff was introduced but the smile on Rebecca’s face indicated she knew who they were…the one’s God had sent – an answer to her prayer. As the staff prayed with Rebecca, they knew the three remaining beds at My Father’s House # 3 had been prepared by the Lord for Mary, David and Michael.
That afternoon, EOH staff informed Rebecca that her children would be accepted into the My Father’s House Orphan Home in Kalingalinga. A peaceful smile spread across Rebecca’s face. Later in the evening, Rebecca went to be with the Lord. Her heart content, His promise fulfilled.
In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. John 14:2
There’s one more noteworthy detail. EOH has been working in the Kalingalinga compound since 2002. We held our first Kingdom Campers Bible Camp in Kalingalinga in 2003 and we now have numerous orphan sponsorships and five My Father’s House Orphan Homes in that community.
If there’s one group of volunteers that I greatly admire at our Bible Camps, it’s the Zambian women and men who work from 4 AM to Midnight all four days at camp as they prepare, cook, serve and clean up the three meals a day – served for an average of 200+ orphans and adult volunteers.
Notice Michael’s t-shirt...it’s from our 2003 Bible Camp in Kalingalinga. Michael and Mary attended that camp and Rebecca, with baby David on her back, served as a volunteer cook.
She gave what she could. She gave her time, her labor, and her talent. We thank you Rebecca and we trust that you have found the room in our Father’s house that Jesus prepared especially for you.
Many thanks to each and every one of you who make this ministry possible, we thank God for you! We also thank God for His promises and His faithfulness!!
Blessings,
GW
