Child Protection PolicyThe Every Orphans Hope (EOH) Child Protection Policy is based on the need to ensure that the children in our care are protected from any kind of abuse as well as securing and ensuring that they have knowledge of and access to their rights. Statement of Commitment EOH is committed to the safety of children in our care and we will take all possible steps to ensure that no physical or emotional harm comes to them. Children’s Rights and Discipline Policy All volunteers must agree to abide by the guidelines provided under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Zambian constitution in childcare facilities, and the discipline policy provided therein. GUIDING PRINCIPLES EOH policies and practices are guided by the following principles: The best interest of the child - All EOH programs, policies, and activities will prioritize the child's best interest. Zero Tolerance for Child Abuse - EOH maintains a zero-tolerance policy for child exploitation and abuse. Where applicable, any action deemed as child abuse will be reported to the authorities, and EOH will cooperate fully with any authority in applying criminal, civil, or disciplinary action. Procedural Fairness - When responding to any possible breaches of this policy, EOH will apply fair and reasonable principles to all persons and organizations involved. Child Protection Awareness - EOH will take proactive steps to ensure that all EOH stakeholders are made aware of their responsibilities regarding Child Protection issues and will provide appropriate training to ensure that the child's best interest remains paramount in all EOH activities and programs. No Discrimination - EOH will not discriminate against anyone in its programs based on their age, gender, marital status, nationality, political beliefs, place of residence, or family background. CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING Child Protection Awareness training will be provided to all volunteers. ABUSE REPORTING EOH maintains a policy of zero tolerance for any form of abuse, including but not limited to physical, sexual, emotional, bullying, intimidation, threatening, and harassment. In order to mitigate abuse, we strongly depend on early detection, investigation, and intervention. Abuse must be reported to the US EOH staff as soon as possible to ensure safety, security, and privacy. REPORTING IS COMPULSORY All EOH volunteers must report any incident they become aware of, such as but not limited to; A child who has been harmed, exploited, or abused A child who has been exposed to an unacceptable risk of harm, exploitation, or abuse A child who discloses that they have been harmed, exploited, or abused Witnessing a child being harmed in any way Reports must be done at the earliest available opportunity. All decisions and responses shall be made in the child's best interest. Confidentiality - Where possible, the confidentiality of the reporter must be protected such that negative effects on the child, family, offender, and reporter are minimal Privacy - All information provided to EOH relating to a child abuse incident will be managed in strict confidentiality in accordance with Zambian legislation and protocol. Children’s Disclosure - Considerable harm has been caused to abused children when they initially disclose abuse, and it is dismissed or disbelieved by people of authority. Therefore, it is an explicit EOH policy that all EOH personnel must, unless there is compelling evidence to the contrary, assume that a child’s disclosure of abuse is genuine and truthful. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the universal sinfulness and guilt of all mankind since the fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, redemption through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ who comprise the Church, which is His body. I have read, understood, and agree with Every Orphan’s Hope’s Statement of Faith.Signature(Required)Your NameYour NameYour NameYour NameDate(Required) Liability Release AgreementThe undersigned wishes to participate in a short-term mission trip (herein the “Project”) sponsored by Every Orphan's Hope, Inc., a Texas nonprofit religious corporation who is providing assistance in arranging this mission trip. However, we are also highly committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children. This policy outlines the guidelines for all staff and volunteers using social media to represent EOH. Social media is defined as any web-based technology that enables people to publish “content” (commentary, photograph, etc.) that may be viewed or read by their network of followers, friends, and other third parties. When staff and volunteers engage with an EOH official social media channel, they represent both themselves personally and EOH as an organization. GENERAL PRINCIPLES FOR EVERY ORPHAN'S HOPE Use discernment: Always portray the children in our care with dignity and respect. Avoid using sensationalized or pity-inducing images. Please remember how the viewer will receive the post with limited situational context. Privacy and Consent: Do not post the specific location of any photo. Each program has varying degrees of privacy and permission, as listed below: EOH BABY HOMES: No unobstructed front view of a child at the Baby Homes should be posted. A photo from behind and from the side is allowed, but if a picture from the front is taken, blur or add a sticker on the child’s face before posting. Do not post any real names of any children in the Baby Homes. EOH FAMILY HOMES: Do not post the last names of any children in the Family Homes. Do not share intimate details of a child’s story. EOH YOUNG ADULTS HOME: Please ask permission before posting, just as you would for any adult. CONTENT GUIDELINES Focus on the Mission: Social media posts should highlight our work to care for children and share success stories. We will not hide from the challenges we face but will focus on the positive impact we are making. Positive and Uplifting Content: We will share stories and images that showcase the children's talents, achievements, and the joy of childhood. Cultural Sensitivity: We will be mindful of cultural norms and sensitivities when posting content. Accuracy: All information shared on social media should be accurate and up-to-date to the best of one’s ability. BEST PRACTICES FOR SOCIAL MEDIA USE Avoid engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior on social media platforms. Please do not engage in any behavior or share content that could negatively reflect on the organization or compromise its values. Always exhibit Christ-like character, remembering our mission is to serve the Lord, and all of one’s actions should represent that in and outside of the workplace or mission field. Agreement(Required) I agree to follow the EOH social media policy.Signature(Required)Your NameYour NameYour NameYour NameDate(Required)
