Strength in Family
Nelly, a graduate of the University of Zambia with a bachelor’s in mass communication, entered Every Orphan’s Hope in 2005 at just six years old, alongside her twin brother, Emmanuel. Their lives had been uprooted after their father’s death. Mama Josephine, their mother, became one of the founding Mamas of EOH, dedicating herself to providing love and care to orphaned children. Tragically, in 2014, Mama Josephine had a stroke. The loss of their mother was a devastating blow for Nelly and Emmanuel, who were fifteen at the time. Yet, through their grief, they experienced God’s steadfast love and providential care. Their new family, always present and supportive, has been a steady source of comfort and strength, helping them press forward. Nelly has become a vibrant, creative, and motivated young adult. She’s currently interning with Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation and Every Orphan’s Hope, an example of her passion for journalism and determination to shine.
