Breaking Ground
on the Afterschool Academy
The Every Orphan’s Hope family in Zambia celebrated the Afterschool Academy groundbreaking ceremony at the end of April, bringing together the staff, children, and local dignitaries. The tribal Headman and Headwoman were in attendance, underscoring the academy’s significance for the area. The contractor presented the blueprints and even walked everyone through the chalk outlines of the rooms, providing a tangible glimpse of the future learning space. Joyful singing from the children who will soon benefit from the learning space filled the air. The ceremony marked a pivotal moment – a shared celebration of the academy’s symbolic start and the bright future it promises!
This 4,800 square foot top-notch learning center will provide a safe and nurturing environment where students will receive:
Personalized instruction: Smaller classes and dedicated staff will advance academic success.
Extended learning: Students will go beyond the school day, explore subjects in-depth, and develop critical thinking skills.
Holistic development: Bible studies, trauma counseling, and extracurricular activities will be offered in the space.
Construction is already in full swing, and we anticipate that the Afterschool Academy will be fully operational well before the beginning of the 2025 school year in January.
