The Nyangwena Bakery is Opening Soon

We can almost smell the fresh bread baking every morning on the Chongwe Family Homes’ property. Indeed, we are just weeks away from our official launch of the Nyangwena Bakery!

The entire town is abuzz, eagerly waiting for the doors to open. Meanwhile, Charles Zulu, our Director of Business Initiatives, has been working hard behind the scenes. Specifically, he has hired staff, purchased a delivery van, received all necessary approvals from the health department, and set up the bakery equipment and workstations. Furthermore, he is now working closely with the printer of the bread bags to ensure all required information is on the packaging.

Like any startup, there is an endless list of things to manage, but Charles is doing a fantastic job of moving the launch of the bakery forward!
The Nyangwena Bakery will start by selling loaves and rolls, working to secure large daily orders from the surrounding schools and businesses. As it is, the local establishments have to wait hours into the morning for their fresh bread to arrive from Lusaka. With the bakery’s opening, fresh bread will be available hours before trucks can come from the city!

As excited as the town and staff are about this new venture, our Chongwe kids are equally ecstatic! They can’t wait for the smell of bread baking and fresh rolls and loaves available daily!
