Going Beyond in Care at the Baby Homes
At Every Orphan’s Hope, our Baby Homes provide a nurturing environment for infants and young children who arrive in moments of crisis, whether due to abandonment, neglect, or the death of a parent. Our dedicated social work team springs into action upon their arrival, assessing each child’s needs and circumstances to find the best permanent family solution.
Remarkably, 72% of the time, they can place these children with biological relatives, ensuring they remain connected to their roots and family heritage. In these cases, we conduct three-year post-placement visits to monitor their well-being and support the family in providing a nurturing environment.
For about 10% of the children in our care, adoption into loving families within Zambia becomes a reality, allowing them to flourish in a stable and supportive home.
If a child turns five and has no relatives able to care for them and hasn’t been selected for adoption, they have the opportunity to move to the Family Homes—an outcome for about 18% of our children. Here, they are embraced by a loving Mama and welcomed into a new family of siblings. In every step of this journey, our commitment is to provide care, love, and stability, ensuring each child can thrive and grow.
