Celebrating a Retiring Mama

After over 11 years of service, Mama Sarah – a widow who raised orphans for 11 years – has bravely decided it’s time to enter a season of rest. Therefore, she is retiring at the end of July. We were thankful for the opportunity to celebrate and honor Mama Sarah while we were all together in Chongwe.

A Decade of Dedication

Mama Sarah has been a staple in the Chongwe family homes, lovingly mothering children who are not biologically her own for over a decade. While we find it difficult to imagine the Family Homes without her, we are grateful she answered God’s call on her life and poured into so many children. Furthermore, her unwavering commitment and love have left a profound impact on everyone she has touched.

A Heartfelt Celebration

The entire EOH family and staff gathered under the insaka for Mama Sarah’s celebration. We heard heartfelt words of gratitude from her children, sang, laughed, and enjoyed cake together. Additionally, we savored this bittersweet moment, celebrating a special mama, so thankful for all she’s done.

A New Season

Please pray for Mama Sarah as she transitions into this new season and, similarly, pray for God’s wisdom as the selection process begins for a new Mama to raise the next generation of orphaned children.
