A Global Movement Returns to Its Zambia Roots

Twenty-five years ago, God planted a seed of hope for orphaned children in Zambia, Africa. That seed of compassion, conviction, and a calling to care for the orphan is now recognized globally as Orphan Sunday.

What began as a single step of obedience on Gary Schneider’s first missionary visit to Zambia has become a worldwide movement recognized and celebrated in over 120 countries.

Now, a quarter century later, Orphan Sunday is returning to its birthplace. With renewed passion and commitment, the Church in Zambia is inviting the current generation of 1.4 million orphans in the country to encounter the love of God, in the family of God, through faith in God’s beloved son, Jesus!

Every Orphan’s Hope is leading the way for the 2025 Orphan Sunday—Homecoming in collaboration with the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia and Churches from across Zambia’s diverse and rich Christian denominational heritage.

Two Landmark Events Will Mark This Historic Year:

The Orphan Sunday Pastor’s Conference will be held on July 24, 2025, at Bread of Life Church in Lusaka, Zambia. 500+ Church Leaders will gather and be equipped to lead their Churches and congregations to respond practically, theologically, and compassionately to the 1.4 million orphans in their communities.

The Orphan Sunday Homecoming Event will be held Nov. 1-2, 2025, at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia. Thousands will gather in unity to praise God in Jesus’ name and call on the Church to welcome every orphan into God’s family.

Join us in prayer for this historic Orphan Sunday – Homecoming revival at OrphanSundayZambia.com.
