Well done, good and faithful servants! Thank you for serving orphans in Zambia.
Mama Florence and Mama Ellen have faithfully served orphans in Zambia for a combined 25 years. Consequently, after raising children not biologically their own, they find themselves in a new season of life as empty-nesters.
The entire Every Orphan’s Hope family gathered this past February to celebrate these two remarkable women. Their children, now young adults, publically honored them with words of thanks and encouragement. Everyone devoured Hungry Lion, Zambia’s favorite fast food. After a festive cake-cutting ceremony, all enjoyed dessert.

Mama Florence
Mama Florence joined Every Orphan’s Hope in 2009, mothering and influencing the children in Lusaka. She’s known as a prayer warrior, giving herself entirely to God’s desire for her life. When asked how she remains so steadfast, she responds, “I wait on the Lord every day until the Lord says it’s over.”
Mama Ellen
Mama Ellen began mothering children in Chongwe in 2012. In 2018, she moved to Lusaka to care for her dear friend, Mama Juliet, who had ovarian cancer. Ellen served as her nurse and friend, tending to every need, no matter how uncomfortable. When Mama Juliet passed, Mama Ellen cared for the brokenhearted children left behind.
Thank you!
These two women have a long legacy of love and devotion for the Lord and serving orphans in Zambia. Subsequently, everyone will greatly miss their presence. Both women plan to retire in the Lusaka area, homesteading while enjoying a bit more rest than they’ve had in quite a while. No doubt, like all good parents of adult children, they will stay in touch with their kids and mentor and advise as the Lord leads.
Mama Florence and Mama Ellen, we will miss you dearly! Thank you for your dedication. May God rain his blessings on each of you.
